How do we find the apartment?
The postcode for One Beach Road is TR26 1JY. You may find your satnav takes you through the centre of St Ives which can be challenging in high season. We will send you directions for what we think is the best route with your final balance receipt.
How do we obtain the keys and how many keys do you provide?
You will be provided with an access code to the key box outside the apartment once you have paid your final balance. We provide two full sets of keys.
Where are the parking spaces?
Upper and Lower Deck have 2 dedicated parking spaces each on driveways adjacent to the house. Cars are parked one behind the other.
What time can we check in?
Check-in is 4pm as we need to give the housekeepers time to properly clean, prepare and check your apartment.
Do we need to check out by 10am on the day of departure?
Yes, it takes time to clean the property and our housekeepers need the apartments and parking spaces from 10am. Please leave the apartments in a clean and tidy state and notify the housekeepers of any outstanding faults or issues.
Is bed linen and towels included?
Yes, all bed linen, bath towels, hand towels, bath mats and tea towels are provided. Please bring your own beach towels.
We are staying for two weeks. Do we get a change of linen midway through our holiday?
Whilst many of our guests do not wish to be bothered whilst on holiday, we do offer a change of linen upon request. We will ask you this at the time your booking is confirmed.
What kitchen and laundry facilities are there?
Both Upper and Lower Deck have a washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, 70/30 fridge freezer, handheld food processor, iron, ironing board and clothes airer.
Are any toiletries and washing products provided?
We provide handwash, two toilet rolls for each bathroom, pods for the dishwasher and washing up liquid and a sponge.
Is any local information provided?
We will include information about the apartment and the local area with your final access details.
Do you provide a cot and high chair?
A high chair is available on prior request. We do not provide cots for Health and Safety reasons however you can hire a range of equipment for babies and children from www.starlinenhirestives.co.uk. Please feel free to contact us with any specific issues and we shall try to help.
What is in our Welcome hamper?
We provide fresh milk and starter tea, coffee and sugar and some Pods to go with the coffee machine. Your Welcome hamper typically includes a bottle of wine and Cornish produce such as biscuits, chocolate, sea salt and honey or jam.
Do the apartments have any outside space?
Upper Deck has a large private terrace with dining table and chairs, bbq, 2 loungers and a storage shed for surf boards, buggies etc.
Lower Deck has a small terrace at the front of the house with a table and seating.
Where is the nearest supermarket?
There is a Tesco (TR26 2PN) as you come in to St Ives from Carbis Bay. There is also a small local shop, Norway Stores, in Back Road West (TR26 1NE). There are also three Co-ops in St Ives – Tregenna Place (TR26 1SD), Royal Square (TR26 2ND) and The Stennack (TR26 1DB). The Co-op is often open until 11pm.
A Marks and Spencer (which has a food department) is located at the Hayle roundabout on the A30 as you approach St Ives (TR27 5LX). You can also use Tesco’s delivery service, (apartment postcode is TR26 1JY). Please note: for a Tesco delivery please ensure it is booked to be delivered when you are there to receive it.
What other food shops are there?
In Tregenna Place there is Harvey Brothers butchers which sells fresh fish and crab and there’s a health food store. The Allotment Deli in Fore Street sells fresh local produce, homemade pies etc and The Digey Food Room sells a selection of Cornish, Italian and Spanish food. There are a wide variety of cafes, pasty shops and takeaways.
Are there barbecues?
Upper Deck has a gas barbecue. Lower Deck does not have a barbecue as there is no safe place for one.
Coffee machines
There are Bosch Tassimo coffee machines in the apartments. A selection of disks are provided. Further disks are available from local supermarkets including Tesco St Ives and Sainsbury’s in Penzance.
What entertainments are provided?
There are a number of SMART televisions in each apartment so aside from freeview TV channels you can access any online services (Amazon, Netflix etc) that you subscribe to. Blu-ray DVD players are also provided though you need to bring your own DVDs. There are also wireless Bose speakers.
We provide Scrabble, Monopoly and a deck of playing cards and there is also a list of possible places to visit with postcodes.
Do you put up a Christmas tree for your guests?
Yes, a tree with lights and decorations will be put up for Christmas bookings. If you have any other requirements, then please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Do you allow pets?
No pets are allowed.
Can we smoke in the apartments?
No, the apartments are strictly non-smoking.
Do you provide hairdryers?
Yes, each bedroom has a hairdryer.
Are all bills included?
Yes, including Wifi. They are subject to a reasonable use policy but this is rarely an issue unless you download large amounts of data.
What is your policy re damage?
We take a £200 damage deposit with your final balance. We understand that accidents do happen and do not charge for the odd broken glass or cup. However, charges may be made for any significant or deliberate damage to the property or its contents, or if any additional cleaning costs are incurred. The potential charge is not limited to £200. We ask you to leave the apartments in a clean and tidy condition. We do appreciate guests informing us of any breakages so we can ensure the next guests do not suffer.
How do I make a booking?
You can make a booking by emailing or telephoning us. A deposit of 30% of your holiday cost is payable to secure a booking or if your holiday commencement date is within 8 weeks of your booking then the full payment is required. We accept debit and credit cards (no fee).
When is the balance for my holiday due?
The balance is due two months before your holiday commencement date. We will aim to send you an email to remind you but it is your responsibility to pay by the due date.
What if I need to cancel my holiday?
Please read our terms and conditions for our cancellation policy. We strongly recommend that you take out holiday cancellation insurance as you remain liable for the full cost unless we are able to re-let the booking.
Mobility and other issues
If any of your party has limited mobility or other health issues that you feel we should be made aware of, please contact us and we will do what we can to ensure your safety and comfort. Clearly this has to be within the limitations of our properties but we will help where we can.
